Truehold sponsors the Adventures in Learning Program, KC Shepherd’s Center’s signature lifelong learning and cultural enrichment program for older adults.
Truehold, a residential sale-leaseback company, is proud to sponsor the Kansas City Shepherd's Center Adventures in Learning Program. We are grateful for the incredible efforts of the Kansas City Shepherd's Center in providing assistance to older adults in the community. Their commitment to promoting independent living and helping seniors age in place is truly inspiring, and we are honored to support their mission.
"Working with Truehold, I see how underserved the aging population is. The Center does the work that a lot of people don't think about until they grow older and need help. At the KC Shepherd’s Center, seniors are at the heart of everything they do. They want to help seniors thrive. I'm honored to be able to partner with an organization like theirs.” - Jessica Swindler, Kansas City Market Manager
The Kansas City Shepherd's Center is a non-profit organization that has been serving the Kansas City community since 1972. The center's mission is to provide assistance to older adults in the community and help them age in place. Over the years, the center has grown and expanded its services to include a variety of programs and services designed to meet the needs of older adults.
The Kansas City Shepherd's Center’s commitment to promoting independent living and helping seniors age in place has helped countless seniors maintain their independence, dignity, and quality of life.
Truehold is sponsoring one of the center's most impactful programs—the Adventures in Learning. This program offers a wide variety of activities for seniors to participate in, including educational classes, art classes, music programs, fitness classes, and social events. These events offer seniors the opportunity to learn new skills, express their creativity, connect with others who share their interests, and maintain their physical health and mobility. The program also helps older adults to stay active and engaged with their community and combat loneliness and isolation.
Seniors in Kansas City can get involved with Adventures in Learning by registering through the KC Shepherd's Center website. The program is volunteer-based and aims to keep older adults mentally and physically active and engaged. It is open to anyone over the age of 55 and is offered at a low cost.
Once seniors have registered for the program, they can choose from a wide variety of classes and events that fit their interests and schedule. They can attend classes either in-person or virtually, depending on their preference and availability. The program also offers opportunities for seniors to volunteer and help those in need, which can be a rewarding way to give back to their community.
Aging in place is a term used to describe the ability of older adults to live independently in their own homes, rather than moving into assisted living facilities or nursing homes. Aging in place is important for seniors because it allows them to maintain their independence and dignity while staying connected with their communities. It also provides them with the opportunity to continue contributing to society and engaging in activities they enjoy, like Adventures in Learning.
Aging in place can be expensive, however, and that’s where Truehold can provide support. Truehold offers a residential sale-leaseback—by selling your home and then renting it back, you can unlock your equity without moving or taking on debt. You can use the funds to pay for in-home care, medical bills, retirement expenses, and more.
As renters, you won't have to worry about the responsibilities of owning a home, like home insurance, property taxes or home repairs. Truehold residents also have access to their Care and Services Team, with occupational therapists available to help find the home services you need to maintain an enjoyable life in the comfort of your own home.
Truehold is grateful for the opportunity to support the Kansas City Shepherd's Center Adventures in Learning Program and the incredible work that the center does to help seniors age in place and stay actively involved in their communities. By working together, we can make a positive difference in the lives of seniors in our local community and help them maintain their independence, dignity, and quality of life.
